Why Give a Festival?
First of all, to share our culture, food, music, happines with all Houstonians. Also, to share understanding of the Cuban migration. The Cuban festival is the main fundraiser for Casa Cuba, so that one day soon, our objective of building a cultural heritage center can be fulfilled. Through these past few years of having Cuban Festivals, Casa Cuba has gained the respect and recognition of Houston.

Do you know what it takes to put on a festival?
Many times people don't realize it takes more than $60,000 to cover the cost of a big event, and the ones who fund it are the patrons and those who direct the efforts, since the organization itself cannot cover the cost alone.

A festival is one of those events with an abundance of costy requirements: event local, restrooms, plice security, clean-up crews, booths, kiosks, chairs, ice, advertising, artists, plane tickets, hotel, transport, local radio talent, postage for mail-outs, tickets, printing cost, stage, stage engineers, food and beverage vendors, city permits, fence rental, and much more.

Your patronage to the Cuban Festival is incredibly appreciated; not only are you contributing to the Casa Cuba objective, but you are experiencing Cuban culture alive in Houston.

Porqué un Festival?
Primero que nada, para compartir nuestra cultura, comida, música, y felicidad con toda la comunidad de Houston. Tambien, para que conozcan a los Cubanos. El Festival Cubano es el evento prinicipal para recaudar fondos para Casa Cuba. Un día cercano vamos a cumplir con nuestro objetivo de tener nuestro propio centro cultural en Houston. Durante los seis años de tener los Festivales Cubanos, hemos ganado el respeto y reconocimiento de Houston.

Sabe Usted lo que Cuesta Tener un Festival?
Muchas veces las personas no se dan cuenta que cuesta más de $60,000 para cubrir los gastos de un gran evento como el Festival Cubano, y son los fundadores y son los patrones, y los que dirigen el esfuerzo, ya que la organización sola no puede cubrir el costo extraordinario.

Un festival es uno de esos eventos que requiere mucha organización: rentar local, baños, kioskos, sillas, hielo, comerciales de imprenta y de radio, diseñadores, tickets de avión, policías, transporte, sellos, tickets, costo de la imprenta, bebidas, comida, escenario, ingenieros para dirigir lo técnico del escenario, permisos de la ciudad, renta de la cerca, y mucho más!
