Perhaps Casa Cuba’s
most symbolic moment came when the board of directors took on the responsibility
of participating in the Smithsonian Institution’s “Save our Sculpture”
program.
Casa Cuba adopted the Jose Marti bust in Houston’s Hermann Park
Rose Garden, originally placed there by the Jose Marti Lodge of the Cuban
Freemasons.
White Rose Ceremony before the Jose Martí Bust
Casa Cuba, Houston's nonprofit organization for the preservation of Cuban
Culture, will honor Jose Marti by laying white roses before the bust.
This meaningful ceremony is for the one and only poet/philosopher who
died in the battle for Cuba's freedom from Spain in 1895. His poetry and
his love of freedom remain a source of inspiration as our nation fights
the war against terrorism. |

Uno de los momentos
más simbólicos de Casa Cuba fue cuando el board de directores
tomo la responsabilidad de participar en el programa del Smithsonian Institution
"Salvar Nuestra Escultura."
Casa Cuba adoptó
el Busto de José Martí en el Jardín de las Rosas
de Hermann Park. La organización "José Martí
Lodge of the Cuban Freemasons" fueron quienes colocaron el busto
originalmente.
Ceremonia para
Jose Martí
Casa Cuba tendrá una ceremonia de rosas blancas, antes del busto
de Jose Martí.
Esta ceremonia simbólica es para nuestro heroe/poeta/filósofo,
quién murió en la guerra de independencia Cubana contra
España en 1895. Sus poesías y amor hacia la libertad continúan
siendo una inspiración, especialmente hoy en día, en la
guerra contra el terrorismo. |
